Call for Book Chapters
RISE – Interinstitutional Network for International Security invites researchers from Brazil and abroad to submit original chapters for an edited volume exploring the intersections between International Security, Sustainable Development and Innovation.
About the Book
International Security has become increasingly significant in view of the complexity of contemporary global challenges, including armed conflicts, geopolitical rivalries, transnational organised crime, terrorism, forced migration, climate change, public health crises, food insecurity and cyber threats.
In this context, Sustainable Development and Innovation have become central agendas for understanding these challenges and developing responses capable of fostering safer and more sustainable societies, in dialogue with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 4, 13 and 16.
Thematic Areas
Contemporary International Security
Defence, armed conflicts, geopolitics, transnational organised crime, terrorism and cyber threats.
Security, Peace and Sustainable Development
The 2030 Agenda, Sustainable Development Goals, peacebuilding and international cooperation.
Technology, Innovation and Data Governance
Emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, data analysis, innovation and digital governance applied to International Security.
Methodologies and Empirical Evidence
Quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods, comparative studies and empirical evidence in International Security and Development.
Submission Guidelines
- Maximum length of 8,000 words, including abstract, footnotes and references, corresponding to approximately 35 pages.
- Manuscripts must comply with current ABNT citation and referencing standards.
- An abstract and keywords must be included.
- Chapters may be submitted in English, Portuguese, Spanish or French.
- Manuscripts must clearly align with at least one of the thematic areas of the volume.
- Chapters should preferably include a theoretical framework, methodological procedures, analysis or discussion of findings, and concluding remarks.
